What do you mean? 用别人的信用卡不行吗？

When I entered the card number of my friend, who authorized me to do so, of course, the system automatically display my name as "name on the credit card".  
I doubt this would work, so I called the admission office, who told me the system doesn't accept if your name is not the same name on the credit card.  However, my friend checked his account immediately and found it was already charged US$200.  On the other hand, my status remains "you have not submitted your application to the GSB"!

I'm still contacting the admission officer on this issue.
But to be on the safe side, I suggest you use your own card.

I do not have my own card, but use my husband's. Is that OK?

The problem is, the system will automatically display your name as "name on the credit card".  But later when they find it's your husband's name on the card rather than yours, there might be some delay caused by verifying, authorizing, etc.

But, CCAML, don't worry, we are on the same boat.  I guess you can still pay by check, and when your husband courier a check to the admission office, he can notify the admissiion office this is paid on behalf of you.  

I am trying this by couriering them a check.

Attached  is the answer from admission office for your reference. I do not think it is quite helpful for you as you have submitted your application. But I have not.


We normally don't accept third party payment, but we are in receipt of your payment.  However your application has not been submitted, and you should take the following steps before January 9, 2004 to be considered for the 2nd round deadline:

1. Logon onto the GSB portal

2. Select the GSB application you wish to submit under "My Applications"

3. Select the submit application selection once in the application

4. Follow the directions for submission  selecting credit card payment when it it comes up in the process

5. When the credit card window appears Close the credit window without entering any information, Don't submit credit card payment again...

6. Return to the GSB application window and hit continue and answer yes" to "Were you able to pay by credit card" question

7. Continue to submission process until the window says you have successfully submitted the GSB application

I submitted again by choosing "payment by money order or check".  This time my status changed to "submitted".
Then I contacted the admission office to ask whether they accept the money paid by my friend's credit card (although they claimed the system didn't accept, the fact is the credit  card had been charged).
Here is the response:
"Once we start matching applications with supplementary material including method of payment, if the credit card payment was not accepted, we would then notify you.  At that time, your friend on your behalf, could then submit the check payment to us. "

So don't worry.  Even if you use your friend's credit card, it still might work.
