thirty years old 与 under it (it指thirty years old) 做比较。

in the original question there is no " were" after "babies", otherwise, the sentence is run-on sentence. the first point is that "it" refers to thirty years old. here the sentence campara the number of babies, whose mothers were over thirty years old when babies were born, to the number of babies whose mothers' age was under thirty years old when they were born. In choice B, " they" is definite pronoun, so "they" refer to "babies" or "women over thirty years old". if it refers to the first one, the sentence leads to absurdity( object is uncomparable), babies are under thirty years old; if it refers to the second one, they are the same  people whose age over thirty years old and under thirty years old , so the sentence cause illogical faulty. In choice C, the verb tense. In choice D, the sentence is unclear to show the comparable point. In choice E, ' those' refers to the babies, thus the sentence is faulty comparism.

这个到没有听说过，不过这题里面是there be句形，那么babies born by women应该是句子的主语，所以还是主语的省略。
