标准答案为D，但是D的 did the economy of the United States，did无法同时还原 grew 和declined两个动词。E答案的解释是因为使用太多名词，不如D的动词有效。莫非动词有效原则由于助动词还原原则？？

答案E错在than前有两个对象分别是Britain's economy和its decline,而the economy of the us是不能同时和前两者比较的，尤其是不能和decline比较，所以错误

想问一下， D选项， the economy 可以搭配grow, 但是可以搭配decline么？？ 觉得应该是the growth 才可以搭配decline吧？？
请大家赐教。

the growth 不可以搭配deline ,但经济可以衰退。 增长/成长growth不可以减少。
