答案是B，但是我的问题是关于D和E的：

 also modems——

D Use of also is awkward, ungrammatical, and confusing; the reader is initially led to think that computers are also becoming modems, but this is clearly not the intended meaning of the sentence

E Also should again be replaced by a clause

为什么D和E对于also的解释不同，E的解释是什么意思啊？是不是说，应该另起一句？

还有，D和E之后的they，和which，对于modem有没有什么影响？我觉得they有指代不清的嫌疑，which好像还可以用，对不对呢？

modems are becoming faster, more powerful, and more reliable too.

C,D,E可以直接排除，从逻辑含义上来看and连接两个并列的句子（and前后是两句独立的句子），但是一句句子中不可以有两个谓语，因此直接排除A选项

Computers are becoming faster, more powerful, and more reliable, and so too are modems, they are the devices to allow two or more computers to share information over regular telephone lines

(B)   so too are modems, the devices that allow

正确项B中the devices that allow做moderns的同位语，lz所说的which不是不能使用，如果B项改成了

(B)   so too are modems, which allow 同样也是正确的

D选项是这样理解的，Computers are becoming faster, more powerful, and more reliable, and also modems 会给人造成错觉，faster,powerful,reliable和modems是并列的，那么就成了computers are also becoming modems,显然违背句子的意思

E就很容易理解了，就是我先前所解释的，and连接前后两个独立的句子，否则就同D选项一样，逻辑含义错误

the devices是不可以改成they的，the devices~~是同位语从句修饰modems，变成they的话，句子结构完全错误了
