CD可以根据时态排除，OG上只是说extend要和spawn平行并列，但是为什么extend一定要描述持续进行的状态，而不能像B那样描述一种客观现象，用一般现在时？

感觉spawned前面省略了that was。不用extend是为了避免和that is产生歧义，为什么呢。

个人感觉是独立主格做壮语，如果用extends会产生独立的S V O ,结构混乱

感觉spawned前面省略了that was。不用extend是为了避免和that is产生歧义，为什么呢。

spawned可以理解为that was spawned，是为了表示被动这样一种状态， 而that was 尽量省去，不然会不简洁；分词extending表示主动

明白了呢，2，3楼感谢，结合起来看就明白了。

确实是可以将逗号后面理解成一个挺大的独立主格结构，主语是a giant fungus ，后边跟着两个并列的分词，就是spawned和extending，如果用extends的话将会造成逗号连接两个句子，而没有连词。

我觉得用extends就是和is平行对应。就改为a giant fungus that is... and (that) extends...

og解释说这样的平行是表面的，会导致晦涩不清楚。

可是我怎么看也觉得这样b阐述也行啊~~

OG有一个语法点是：过去分词 和 现在分词并列修饰核心词

这里的核心词是“filigree”

这如OG所说spawned是发生在过去的一个动作，孵出卵，这个动作不可持续

extending,是说filigree 一直持续到现在，否则句首就不会是现在完成时，那么科学家就就不会发现了re

extending是表示現在仍然存在的 現在分詞，

但文法上來看，過去分詞是由被動語氣形成的，例如 (that was省略) spawned,,,

 

                         現在分詞是由主動語氣形成的，例如 that extend 變成 extending

有點混淆，到底是表主被動，還是表現在過去？
