Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Universities should give the same amount of money to their students’ sports and social activities as they give to their university libraries. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
Few issues are as likely to provoke widespread interest on campus as that involving investment of students' sports and social activities or their libraries. As far as my concern, students' sports and social activities are worthy the same investment as which the libraries deserve.
The first convincing argument of my viewpoint is dressed below. Although most important, studying in the university is not the only task students are supposed to do, that is, sports and social activities are also inevitable. For instance, the graduate students of our university have acquired a reputation of having excellent ability to communicate with people in diverse business areas, and sufficient energy to do their work. This definitely have something with decision of board of university to emphasize sports activities and encourage students to join in diverse kinds of social activities. Paying more attention to sports and social activities, which are almost equal important to study stuffs, will make students gain a lot that will help them significantly.
The second thing, students' sports and social activities definitely need the equal investment of libraries. Firstly, universities' investment can make students know the importance of sports and social activities, for example, a new sports centre was build up last year in our university, students around me and including me are turn to be spend more time in the new sports centre, to build up bodies, to keep figures, etc. Also, investing to sports and social activities can help students to decrease their expenditure on which they might spent, just take our university as an example, the expenditure per year of the cheapest available sports centre outside our university in our neighborhood is as high as 300 dollars, which is apparent too expensive for us to stand. Once investment is paid to support our activities of sports, we students on the campus will gain a lot financially.
For all reasons mentioned above, students' sports and social activities play an almost equal significant role as studying in libraries, and investment are so meaningful that students can benefit from it tremendously. |
