我觉得这个句子改为

    During the 1950s,young polio victims learning to live with their disabilities were helped to practice falling as part of their therapy   就好了

    as part of their therapy修饰practice falling

另外，问一句，大家有见过其他的句子中，句首连用两个状语的情况吗？？？

    我开始有点怀疑E选项中, as part of their therapy,是不是介词短语作状语修饰整个句子了

It reads like 'during the 1950s' is to modify 'practice falling', rather than 'were helped to'...

感谢SBBI兄指点，有点体会到了，关键在于歧义，昨天找到一句话：

     you are excepted to invest in new players during this season.

     再看（A）As part of their therapy, young polio victims learning to live with their disabilities were helped to practice falling during the 1950s

     两者的不同在于，第一句话不会引起歧义，第二句话引起歧义。
