B选项and前后不对称, and连词后面是was, 而前面没有相应的谓语动词,造成断句

楼主仔细看BC的区别,除了which,begin也不一样,B,begun,begin的过去分词,用于被动语态,因为其前面没有was,所以不是谓语动词,不能和and后的谓语动词并列,如楼上所说。C,began,过去时,是谓语动词,从而和and后的谓语动词并列。C正确。

当时我也做错了,没有注意到B选项中begun用了过去分词形式

如果B的选项是began,而不是begun,那么B和C怎么选呢

the Roman Colosseum指的是罗马圆形大剧场(建于公元80年,耗时5年,至今大部分尚存),官方名字Flavian Amphitheater,即选项C中which的指代对象,而选项B中分词结构officially known as修饰的是Construction of the Roman Colosseum,逻辑意思错误

所以C项正确
