Duke On-campus Interview

Just finished my interview and now I am in the Fox Center waiting for the tour and class visit.

It last about an hour. The whole process was very relaxed, not standard Q&A format as I expected, but more like a casual meeting. That's why I couldn't come up with a list of questions as others did. But there were nothing unexpected, so don't worry.

My interviewer was a 2nd year student. He actually started the interview by introducing himself, such as his background, why MBA, why then and why Duke. Then he asked me about my background. The rest just flowed with the conversation. He would jump in with questinons, and I could do the same thing when he was talking.

Now I am wondering how much intervew really weighs in the whole application package.

Fox Center还挺不错的. 而且新的楼6月就能用. 今年入学的有福了. 就是不知道咱能不能进.

后来去上了Finacial Statement Analysis的课, 啥也听不懂, 搞得我都快睡着了.

Today I met a bounch of applicants who just came from UNC. I guess a lot of people applied to both schools.

Base on your whole package, such as background, language, motivation, etc.

I scheduled my interviews next week. BTW, did you wear suit? or business casual as they asked?

现在con我还太早了. 我在US, 交了申请费就能面试的. 不过DUKE要是要我了我一定谢谢楼上的两位的吉言!

我没穿suit. 去了发现男生都穿的很正式, 西装领带的. 女生就什么都有了, 毛衣, T-shirt,还有个穿裙子的. 不过也有穿suit的. 感觉duke的面试很宽松. 那几个刚从UNC过来的说那边比较正规.

I am one of "a lot of people," who applied both schools, hehe.

Will do an interview tomorrow with a duke alumni in Beijing. Any particular suggestions?

I have done the UNC interview in December, and the decision is going to be released in a couple of days!

停顿应该会有的吧, 谁也不能一口气把话说完啊. 你去了就知道你不会紧张了. 面试的气氛很轻松,就象聊天一样. MM不要着急, 慢慢说, 把自己的意思表达清楚就行了. 人家也知道我们是外国人, 不会指望我们英语讲得象老美那么溜的.
