such...as to这种说法一定错吗？看og这里。。。

印象中很多题里都说such as to是不对的，好像so as to是可以的
可是今天在回看og11时看到一篇阅读里有原文如下
The first theory attributes a relatively constant population to periodic climatic catastrophes that decimate populations with such frequency as to prevent them from exceeding some particular limit.
那到底such as to可以用吗？谢谢！！
