[原创]WHAT MATTERS YOU MOST AND WHY?

偶只是一个TOEFL新兵，刚刚开始漫长的复习申请之路第一步。

之前一直关注Stanford NYU EMORY三所学校的情况。也打算申请这三所学校。

昨天晚上，半夜里久久不能入睡，脑子里到处都是"what matters you most and why"

我想了很多事情，孩童时期跌入10几米深的WELL之中，海上旅游险些葬身东海，愿意放弃现实生活中的高薪

厚遇，想了许多许多。

WAHT MATTERS ME MOST? 经历了几次生死边缘的挣扎，我明白了人的脆弱，人生几十年的苦短，我明白了乘

早去做点点自己想做的事情，实现自己的梦想就是其中之一，if you ask what matters me most, undoutedly, i will

tell you it is chasing my dream in the top universities of the world. so why ?

why the top university is your dream ? i ask myself again and again in the deep midnight .

much more money ? good reputation ? let my parents be proud of me ? good promotion ? astonishing experience ?

enjoying free and open education ?

definitely ,i can say , money and good promotion are not the key factors,so reputation and experience,and education

should deserve it ,right ?

but is it the truth ? what is the cutting edge of all above mentioned ?

maybe I think because of my world view,sense of worth ?

actually ,it is not so clearly .

so i want to know  what you guys think about it ?

There is a big difference between "Chasing my dream" and "Chasing my dream in the top universities of the world".

If you write about the former one, you may be accepted; if the latter one, you will probably be rejected. You dream should not be limited to "in the top uni.". Stanford wants applicants who want to change the world, not a person who is obsessed by a degree in famous uni.

Just my 2 cents.

  我总还是觉得，说对自己最重要的是追求梦想，好像还差一步。还需要把自己的梦想描述清楚。越具体越好。越具体，越坚定；越空泛，越容易迷失。这个问题不仅仅表现在写essay的时候，它实际上浸入到了我们生命中的每一分，每一秒，每一个取舍，每一个行为中。今天突然觉得，这个问题，其实我们每个人都已经有自己的答案了，差别只在于自己清不清楚，愿不愿意去正视。
个人意见，谢谢。

其实这题的发散性很强呀

可以说是一个理念，概念，想法，也可以说成一个东西，一件事情，一段时间，一条格言，甚至用隐喻，过去的，未来的，手里有的，手里没有的

说白了，这题可以读解成，“你有什么东西最想让Ad Com 知道。”

我第一想法是，最重要的是“star”，，，不是为了别的，是为了好押韵，，， - -|||

当时想，三页纸，双倍行距，写篇叙事诗刚刚好，，，最后没胆子写，，，

top university shall NOT be your dream. instead, it helps you to achieve your dream. logically, dream is what matter to you most.

then every one has different dream.

another way to think about it, something/someone instead of a dream matter to you most, is also answering the question. you may want to choose this route.

at the moment it still tie down to money.

another way to go deeper - ask yourself, what if you have all the money you want? what will you do?

LZ的人生好像颇多磨难的说，看来你爸妈吧你拉扯大很不容易啊。

7楼的那位怎么不写叙事诗，多遗憾。。。

9楼的头像里那个MM好漂亮，好有味道的，估计也是很多人的dream吧？

我现在的一个小dream是学会唱周杰伦的“牛仔好忙”。。。
