首先楼主。。省略的话是可以补全的，否则就不能省略的。。在这里你说是比较宾语，那么就是说主语和谓语是相同的。。

如果你说E对的话，那么好，我们就说是比较宾语，那么意思就是说 xxx have been as disturbing A  as B.就是说his own time和compelling 比较对不？还原就是xxx have been as disturbing A as(xxx have been disturbing compelling ..明显错误啊。。

LS的引用非常说明问题。我原来就想Thomas Eakins这个人肯定是个古代的人，那么原文的比较就是拿过去和现在做比较，但是这里的省略还不是很肯定。再次感谢LS MM的引用！
