(1) The admissions office will be closed from Dec. 21th to Jan. 2nd for the holiday break. I think R2 review will restart once the office is reopened. (2) I don't think the location is a big problem. Certainly, Ithaca is not as convenient as places like NYC or Bay area. But, on the other hand, it is far closer to business/financial centers in the east coast than some other top schools. In addition, the reputation of Cornell is simply attractive enough for many big companies come to campus for recruiting even though Ithaca is just a small place (and this is why students are very close to each other because you can just see everybody everyday). (3) SGE is one of the strongest areas at Johnson. For class 2009, there are about 30~40 students in this immersion. Most of them had previous experiences of working as volunteers in Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe for at least 2 years. It is just fascinating to study with these people who are so passionate about social and environmental sustainability. You may check http://www.johnson.cornell.edu/sge/index.html for current projects. I am not in SGE. But, if you have more questions, drop me an email and I can forward them to some SGE students. (4) For the TOEFL score report, you may scan your original copy and send the electronic version to the admissions office. I am not sure whether this is gonna work, but certainly it is worth a try. |
