今天看到一所学校的介绍里面提到宗教问题

“*2 Non-LDS students - Because a significant portion of the University's operating costs are paid from the tithes of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, students who are tithe-paying members of the LDS Church have already contributed to the operation of the University. Non-LDS students, because they will not have made this contribution, are charged a higher rate of tuition. The practice is similar in principle to that of state universities that generally charge non-residents a higher rate than residents.”

基督教新教教会资助的学校

本人是天主教徒，虽然不甚虔诚，但的确是刚出生就洗礼了的。对这些新旧教的划分也不清楚。

因为上面所谓的LDS教徒有减免部分学费的优待，假如我要申请这类学校是否有正面或者负面影响呢？申请时是否需要据实填写？

If the school is largely Mormon, I would imagine it would more attract Mormon students, but you mentioned that you are catholic.

Not saying that you cannot apply, so dont get defensive.

BYU是个很不错的大学，里面绝大部分学生都是摩门教教徒。这学校就是由摩门教徒而创办的。但是非摩门教的学生在学校里一点不受影响。以前就有中国学生在BYU学习的。

顺带解释一下，摩门教和天主教、新教都不相同，在美国很多天主教徒很讨厌摩门教徒，但是我接触过一些摩门教徒，觉得他们人并不坏，还挺热心助人的。宗教不是最重要的，最重要的还是每个不同的个体。一切不能一概而论。
