现在分词在句首才是修饰主语。
现在分词在句尾是主句的伴随动作，而不是修饰临近的名词。

所以这体用定语从句修饰。

有个想法，记得关于是用分词还是用WHICH从句，好象是分词强调动作的正在进行的过程，而从句就是强调状态。

此题句尾的现在分词之前有逗号,我所说的是这种情况。
如果没有逗号，而是紧接着名词，那就是修饰名词，如og39 中protecting修饰a method.
