我能申Phd吗？

As a layman to the Finance area, let me ask this basic question: how is a "working paper" defined? According to wiki, a "working paper" is a draft of certain ideas before sending out for peer review. Sounds like a technical report to me. It seems that there might not be a hard criterion to judge whether a "working paper" will be accepted as a "peer-reviewed paper". Correct me if I am wrong.

几天不见，这个帖子已经被灌成这样了？我一开始看到楼主的背景，以为没人会去搭理的，因为所给出的信息反映了楼主的背景已经强到直接Tenured了。

楼主不肯给出论文的连接，认为TOO PERSONAL，怕别人知道你的名字，这实在说不通。既然论文是DOWNLOADABLE的，属于Public的，那大家知道你的名字又如何呢，如果你所言信息属实，大家无非知道了一个同时有5篇Working Paper的牛人的名字而已。所以我觉得楼主有点心虚。

Robert C. Merton is currently the John and Natty McArthur University Professor at the Harvard Business School. After receiving a Ph.D. in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1970, he served on the finance faculty of MIT's Sloan School of Management until 1988 when he moved to Harvard. Professor Merton is past President of the American Finance Association and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. He received the Alfred Nobel Memorial Prize in the Economic Sciences in 1997.
