请教NN们，文科背景的可以申请PHD on operations management 或 supply chain management 吗

本人是文科背景，有意攻读物流管理的博士，不知道可否申请PHD on operations management 或 supply chain management ？ 是不是这些专业都要求工科背景啊？多谢多谢

sure. but you better take some math courses before your application. A case that you can refer to is Paul H. Zipkin, who was a professor in Columbia and now moves to Duke. His undergraduate is music/art or sth, but he successfully adapted himself to a new subject.

no way. i doubt if you can handle stachastics and probabilities, linear programming... these kind of courses.

对的，数理要求很高，你需要补习统计，概率，随机数学知识，而且是比较高等的随机数学和概率统计，实分析和高等代数

I've attended a lecture by aul H. Zipkin several months ago in Shanghai and he's so good at maths that you can't believe he's an art student...

This guy graduated from a top liberal arts college.  No wonder he could adapt quickly to different careers.

If LZ comes from a pure humanity program in China, then it's a totally different story.

同问啊 感觉被录取的都是工程或是数学背景的

这个你要跟教授联系上，做qual或许有戏，关键看你有没有什么优势给他们做research。一般都是cal一年，一门线代，概率论基础课，这基本是商学院PhD基本入学要求。

不过。。。楼主为何不考虑IB, OB等方向？楼主文科是否是心理学背景？是的话申MKT CB方向很好的呀

Entrepreneurship也可以。

话说文科背景在楼主感兴趣的相关领域在SC strategy出没多点，物流管理还真没有。。。比如说，有些学校是跟工业工程弄在一块的~~~
