关于as...as的问题：如果as....as只能是同等的比较，那为什么很多这样的用法：sth. is twice as many as....,    sth. runs 3 times as fast as.....,

这个问题很微妙。其实你自己已经提供了答案。twice,3times和2000years有什么关键性的区别呢？years是名词，怎么能修饰后面的as old...呢。 而twice和XX times是副词和副词词组，完全可以修饰后面的语句。
