1.  Bob Wilber becames Sidney Becht's student and protege when he was nineteen and , for a few years in the 1940's , came as close to being a carbon copy of the jazz virtuoso in performanc as anyone has ever come.
a. as anyone has ever come
b. as anyone ever had been
c. as anyone ever had done
d. that anyone ever did
e. that anyone ever came
答案:a
lzm 解释说 has ever come 中的ever 只能放在 has 之后, c 中 ever 在had 后, 所以c 不对,请问 ever 的位置是一定的吗?

2.   New techniques in thermal-scanning photography, a process that records radiation from surface areas, makes it possible to study the effects of calefactions, or warming, of a river in greater detail than ever before.
a. makes it possible to study the effects of calefactions, or warming, of a river in greater detail than ever before.
b. make it possible to study, in greater detail, the effects of calefactions, or warming, of a river  than ever before.
c. have made it possible to study in greater detail than ever before the effects of calefactions, or warming, of a river.
d. makes  possible the study of the effects of calefactions, or warming, of a river in greater detail than it was ever before.
e. has made it more possible than ever before to studyin greater detail the effects of calefactions, or warming, of a river.
                2) b中的 in greater detail 可不可以理解为既 修饰 study , 又可能修饰 the

3.    According to the Better Business Burau, if your fail to advertise the highest price in a range of prices for a service or product as prominently as that of the lowest, it violates the New York Consumer Protection Law.
a. if your fail to advertise the highest price in a range of prices for a service or product as prominently as that of the lowest, it
b. if one fails to advertise the highest price in a range of prices for a service or product as prominently as the lowest price, it
c. failure to advertise the highest price in a range of prices for a service or product as prominently as the lowest
d. failure to advertise as prominently the highest price in a range of prices for a service or product as the lowest
e. failing to advertise as prominently the highest price in a range of prices for a service or product  as that of  the lowest

这题的关键是than ever before用现完。

事实上 as + adv. + n. + as 的用法都不好;    as + adj. + n.

1, since it refers to ANYONE, there is no time frame, so past ferfect is improper
2, in addition to shelly's explanation, i think choice B is a broken sentence, shouldn't be prioritized.
3, i would argue it should be analyze from meaning point of view. we all know that retailers always prominently advertise lowest prices to attract customers. so it makes more sence to stick the word 'PROMINENTLY' to 'lowest prices.'
