插入语的一个想法不知道对不对[讨论]

刚刚在做天山新题20题的第15题，原题如下

我考虑了一下这题的b选项成立那么也就意味着50 times sweeter than sucrose可以确定无误的指向a substance，我突然想起我以前也做过类似的题，好像插入语部分都是直接指向前面主干部分的主体名词的。或者说，插入语成分之间是并列的关系，它们之间是不可以构成修饰关系的，这个想法好像太僵硬了，不知道大家怎么看。

我也有这个印象,但是不确定.这里插入语修饰substance由sweater来判断更有把握些.
看哪位可以多举几个例子看看.
