Luck is also very important. But I strongly suggest you came to the States first. Then the chance for Ph.D will increase a lot and you can apply some better schools.

come to states?u mean come to USA firstly ,right?stanley-bao.but i think it's difficult for me to come to USA unless being there as a student,thanks lovely friends anyway,u have help me a lot.I'm preparing GT and hope can play a good performance on it.I will try my best to ear myself a chance to be touch my dream

One area you could possibly do to increase your chances would be your GMAT. Retake it if you feel you can make it better without too much effort.

Also, like many have mentioned, get good recommendation, write persuasive personal statement. As for school list, try to identify some tier 2 tier 3 schools that don't have many applicants but have the exact research strength as what you are doing. Matching the research strength could be one of your strategies. Good luck!

What I mean is to get a master degree/ or just came here for study at first. You can learn many professors and get information more directly than in the mainland.
