而且e不是更简洁么，idiots有很多种，were mentally deficient and incapable of 。。。限制idiots,然后说对待顾客像对待这种idiots一样。

哦！忽然有点明白了，原文后边接的是虚拟语气，也就是说前边的要加的东西肯定不是真的idiot咯~那么E里把idiot 放在虚拟语气前就不对了

我觉得如果是当作idiot的描述限定的话，那就得are mentally.......而不是虚拟语气were mentally....
