My opinion:

First the meaning:

There are more than 75 carefully engineered structures were built at Chaco Canyon. And each structure has up to 600 rooms . 

And,

The clause " of up to 600 rooms each" XIAN DING "engineered structures" And "connected by a complex regional system of roads." XIU SHI  engineered structures.

I can't type Chinese now. Sorry.

如果of修饰structures,那么这两个短语中间就不应该有逗号啊，应该直接修饰的。

I think so. of up to 600 rooms each. 是同位语结构.

It is wrong to mean XIAN DING between " of up to 600 rooms each" and "engineered structures".

connected这里修饰的是structures吗？我一直一位动词的过去分词放在句末就是默认修饰句子主语的呢。

如果不是这样的话，它的修饰对象怎样确定？

如果修饰主语，放在最后不符合ets的clarity原则

我理解connected就相当于structures的补足语，从意思上来说这样也比较clear

不过或许我理解得不对
