错选了E    当时就是在investigating 和 to  investigate 之前犹豫了一下  后半个句子没有看 

是不是E句意错了

个人观点，to investigate带有目的性。一般用sb. do sth. to ....句子讲的是某地发生了什么事。

而题目中的红色的句子是对实验的一个陈述。
