<div class="maxcode-quote"><b>以下是引用<i>skylighting</i>在2007-9-27 22:28:00的发言：</b><br/><p>不太明白ROSS 里面那些programs 和 centers的关系。</p><p>有MAP, leadership intiative, 然后又有很多centers and institutes,不明白他们之间的关系是什么样的呢？在写career goal的essay时写到why this school的时候有些困惑</p><p>能不能提供一些关于这些的信息呢？我的career goal写的是开咨询公司，ross有哪些特别的clubs 和 programs是关于这些呢？</p><p>谢谢了,谢谢了~</p><p></p><img src="/static/legacy-emoticon/Dvbbs/em59.gif" /></div><p>MAP 其实更像一门课程，有学分的，一年级的下半学期（每年春季）3-4月修，为期几周，到时你会和另外几个同学飞到某个城市的某家公司完成一个project, 有在美国的，也有在世界各地。比如，Intel Asia (香港) 就有，还有在大陆和欧洲等等。学校在前一年冬天联系各个公司是否愿意sponsor 这个program. 学生可以提出prefer哪几个projects, 最终学校会assign一个给你。MAP 是Ross 体现action-based learning 的一个非常好的例子，因为你要去完成的是现时世界企业面对的问题。有学生曾总结，MAP和暑假实习是他们获得进步最快的两个经历。Intel Asia就是通过MAP接受Ross的学生, 进而邀请那几个学生到他们那里进行暑期实习，进而给了他们full-time offer. 现在那几个学生已经在Intel 亚洲工作了（已毕业）.</p><p></p><p>Ross Leadership Initiatives (RLI) 其实是学校强调leadership, 但不是通过正规的课程实现的一种program, 有2个老师专职负责，一个学年里的几个时期举办某个活动。比如，最重要的活动是开学前相当于orientation 的 Ross Leadership Initiative - Foundation Session. 以前的帖子已经介绍不少了。这个program 不是academical的，主要是提高学生领导力的program.</p><p></p><p>如果将来开consulting 方面的公司，建议联系几个clubs 和institutes.</p><p>1. 创业方面：</p><p>a. <a href="http://www.umich.edu/~cvpumbs" target="_blank">Center for Venture Capital and Private Equity Finance</a>&nbsp;(可上网了解）</p><p>b. <a href="http://www.bus.umich.edu/StudentLife/StudentOrganizations/ClubDescriptions.htm#Entrepreneur_and_Venture_Club_(EVC)">Entrepreneur &amp; Venture Club&nbsp; </a>( 可上网了解, 同时有问题发邮件给club 的officers, 他们应该会答复你）<br/></p><p>2. consulting方面：</p><p>a. Consulting Club (帮助那些找consulting firm工作的同学 - 改简历，练case, mock interview, career counseling etc)&nbsp;</p><p>b. Community Consulting Club - 主要是给community 提供consulting services.</p><p>c. Ross 其他俱乐部（如healthcare) 都会有各种形式的case competition, 另外BCG, AT Kerney 等都会提供各种case competition 的机会，锻炼consulting skills.</p><p>d. strategy 课程：McKinsey 会对每个班上教授选出的最好的几个学生奖励scholarship. </p><p></p><p>Hope it helps.</p><p></p><p></p>

But I do know one second year student who worked on&nbsp;MAP&nbsp;in Intel Hong Kong early this year. I will contact him and follow up with you later.</p>

But one thing struck my mind - nothing is impossible!</p><p>I suggest you send an email to Ross Admission Office, telling them why you&nbsp;want to go to Ross right after your master (find convincing reasons but be brief), and then ask their oppinion. </p><p>Most important, convince yourself why you want to go to b school. In your essays, explain well about - why MBA, why Ross, long/short term goals. And how you developed your business skills in the past. Maybe it's a plus if you have started some type of business in your spare time....etc... </p><p>Hope this helps.</p>
