31题ETS說have a disinclination to recognize the weakness of their analytical skills while willing 是grammatically incomplete，而31题的E结构和233题正确答案C的结构一样，难道不是矛盾的吗？

31题中willing不是作动词，而是形容词，所以要补出动词being，形成while being willing to do；

233题中raising本身已经是动词了，故不需补出动词。

请问语法书中说了while之后不能跟形容词性的成分吗？能否贴出来让大家看看。这个疑问我存在很久了。我在语法书中找了半天也没能解决。但我的确看到过这种句子，且当作佳句背了下来。请看：He wrote this novel while immersed in the dull life of a small town;

此句中的immersed是形容词性的吧。

我觉得immersed这里不是形容词，而是省略了主语的被动用法。。。完了，越来越晕。

jandj_shanghai 解释得很清楚了，while前的动词是have, while后的willing是形容词，需要的动词是系动词be的are。while后默认many people做主语是没问题的。但省略就是（也只能）省略前面出现的东东，这里while前的谓语动词是have, 这一句就变成了while have willing to...。be在前面没有出现过， 而句子需要的是be。所以E就是错误的省略了be。

请看longman 上的一个例子:

She met Andy while working on a production of Carmen.

this sentence tell us clearly: while后面可省略与主句相同的从句主语和与主句谓语不相同的be 动词.
