     我的问题是without 后面作为一个介词短语，优先修饰damage，意思上不对，应该是修饰A patient 。介词短语可以这样用吗？？那么分词短语是否也可象介词短语这样跳跃修饰？？

     另外，A，D中其他错误不管，some other doctor是否该改为some other doctors？

我认为without 不是修饰damage or a patient，而是修饰整个句子，不存在跳跃修饰。
应该改为some other doctors

without another doctor’s testimony是介词短语作状语，修饰prove。
some other doctor意思是某个其他的医生。感觉可以。

介词短语的修饰似乎比较复杂，在XDF听课时，老师说介词短语总是优先修饰最靠近的前面的成分
