a quantity of/quantities of后既可接复数可数名词，亦可接不可数名词

both rich and poor alike 是重复，both rich and poor; rich and poor alike都对，both 和alike 有重复之意

amount修饰people错，B D错

我个人认为A C E的表达都是正确的

这题你好像把 C里面的 themselves漏掉了吧？是根据themselves来得到正确答案C的

刘振民的书上说，quantities of + 可数名词是错的；这个我不同意，谁说不可以了？

那C和E ,A不都可以吗?到底为什么选C?

不知道啊，LZM的书上，答案C是有themselves的，所以选C
至于他剔除A, E是说quantities of people不对，我不同意

large/small amount of 多修饰抽象的、不可数名词，例如disdain（鄙视），也能修饰time，money
large/small/vast/great quantity of 多修饰较实在的物（而不修饰人）、可数不可数都行，例如money，mangoes
great number of 修饰可数名词（包括人）
