placing是放在名词trend后面，其逻辑主语就应该是trend呀，怎么能是主句主语?如果只是个赤裸裸的ing放在后半句的开头，当然其逻辑主语是主句主语。

D选项应该是同位语结构 trend 不对。

这里的同位语用法属于 概括性同位语结构——用一个概括性的名词去概括前面的解释对象。

trend不能概括前半句。

还有我觉得a trend placing 肯定有问题，但是不知道怎么解释。
