It is better to spend money on something that lasts long time, such as an expensive piece of jewelry or spend on something that provides a short-term pleasure such as a vacation?

 

  Almost every girl desire to own some luxuries, and I myself am the same. But once I have some money to spend, I would go to have a vacation rather than buy some expensive goods because a holiday is much more meaningful than a piece of jewelry for me.

 

  Some people may argue that we should spend money on things that last long, so that they will never be depreciated. But on no account can we ignore the fact that most of us love the new and loathe the old. A girl may like a necklace today, and a month later you may find her wearing another one, leaving the old in a dusty corner. It is time that devalues the luxuries.

 

  I am a college student, and a piece of jewelry is not useful for me at all. Spending money on a vacation provides something much more than a short-term pleasure. One of the greatest benefits of traveling is to learn about a new and different place. Learning the diverse view point of a new place not only presents totally new information; it also casts a new light on the old view point. Another benefit is that during the trip I may make friend with the traveling companions. When I was hiking in Yunnan province, I got to know a lovely local girl who was our cicerone, and now she is one of my good friends. We both believe that true friendship can be maintained over distance.

 

  In my point of view, a short-term pleasure is not really “short”; it will bring us wonderful memories, amazing experiences and sincere friendship. They are the things that last long time, and to some extent, forever. They are much better than an expensive necklace which I seldom wear, always locked in a locker.

Do you agree or disagree that agree or disagree that parents can’t control children. Because children are always influenced by tv, radio and the outside world?

 

  We are now living in a world which is flooded by excessive information. When talking about raising children, some may say that parents nowadays can’t control children because the kids are always influenced by TV, radio or the outside world. In my opinion, I hold the opposite point of view because parents are always the first and the best teachers of their children.

 

  In most cases the earliest teachers people have are their parents, and parents are generally most concerned about the development about their children. Almost everyone knows that children tend to unconsciously or subconsciously copy everything from their parents. So when there is a child in the family, the parents’ words and behaviors influence the child greatly.

 

  Of course we cannot ignore the effect of TV, radio or other media. Not only children, but also we grown-ups are influenced by this information-based world everyday. The most important of all, the parents should direct children to the right way rather than keep them away from the outside world. As an illustration, one kid may have plenty interests in computer games, in such a case, it is much better to help him choose the proper games in which there are few violence or sexy than just to push the button, turn off his computer.

 

  Though the outside world can impact children strongly, the parents may help their kids much more. Psychology studies have shown us that parents’ love sometimes have astonishing magic power to their children. However, parents should not CONTROL the children, for every human being is equal. We can help the children, influence them but cannot control them. In fact, wise parents often release rather than charge their children because they are aware of the possibility outside the family.
