In @USC IBEAR MBA

Just got admission through an email from USC IBEAR MBA, with $25K scholarship.

The total tuition cost is very high. How much can I borrow from school without a co-signor? Frankly speaking, financing is something which will decide the final decision on my part. Anyone can help with the financing question?

I have another admission, total attend cost under $50K, from a Boston-based 2-year MBA program. But the latter MBA has no places at any major ranking media.

Thanks

Congrats!! Can you provide some info about the IBEAR MBAs' job placement prospects? Without internship opportunities, will it be very difficult for an IBEAR MBA to get a decent job in US? Thanks.

Frankly speaking, I have no further information about this. But IBEAR program is more appropriate for a mid-career student, who has significant department managerial experience.

I am contacting IBEAR for more information about the job placement, especially for international students from China or Asia. Meanwhile, job placement more depends on students rather than a program. Given you have good command of English and have realistic expectation about job and position, I do believe you can have a satisfied job.

One year MBA has its pros and cons. An mid-career MBA program, IBEAR MBA offers a lot of unique features you can not expect in two year regular MBA programs, but it has problem, very serious one, in helping students -especially internationals -look for jobs in USA. A lot of international students choose go back to their home countries with MBA diplomas. However every year, 20% of international students managed to find jobs in US and stay. Lessons for older applicants: MBA path is one way putting you on the soil of USA, leaving yourself in finding way out. Few MBA programs have experience in dealing with job search for mid-career students like you. You have to count on yourself. Do not loose the reality touch no matter what MBA programs you have been admitted to, you will find youself in doing the job search on your own. Bright side -I can attest to -is you can have job if you are competitve enough.
