The ESCP-EAP European School of Management is a business school and one of the most prestigious French Management Grandes Écoles [[1]], [[2]]. It is the oldest institution in the world dedicated to business education. It has campuses in five major European cities: Paris, London, Madrid, Berlin, and Turin.

It is considered as one the best business schools in France and Europe, noted for its European and International activities. In December 2006, it was ranked 6th best business school in Europe and 2nd best in France by the Financial Times[3]. Its core degree, the Master's in Management, was ranked third best in Europe.[4]. It stands 37th in the world ranking for its Executive MBA [5].

Its programmes are accredited by the international AMBA, Equis, and AACSB.

The school has many notable alumni in business and politics, including many CEOs, the former Prime Minister of France, Jean-Pierre Raffarin and the former Foreign Secretary Michel Barnier. After graduation, most former students are offered positions of responsibility or graduate training in major companies in the field of Marketing, Finance and Consulting.

The ESCP-EAP is the result of a merger in 2000 of two institutions: the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (or Sup' de Co) and the EAP (Ecole Européenne des Affaires).

The École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris was founded in 1819 by a circle of economists and traders including the famous economist Jean-Baptiste Say and the banker Vital Roux. As such, it is the oldest establishment dedicated to business and finance teaching in the world. It was modeled on the Ecole Polytechnique created by Napoléon but was much more modest in its beginnings, mainly because it had not been supported by the state. It gradually gained in stature and importance during the 19th century and moved to its current location, avenue de la République, in Paris, in 1859. At the beginning of the century, the school suffered from the creation of a rival business school, the HEC. But the 20th century gave importance to business studies, and soon enough the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris saw its importance rise again. Its popularity meant it had to develop a rigorous selection process. By the mid-20th century, the school was considered an elite institution and admitted its students after two years of dedicated preparatory classes through a competitive entrance exam.

The EAP (Ecole Européenne des Affaires) was created in 1973 as a result of a European initiative to create a trans-national elite business school. From its inception, the school had campus in four major European cities: Paris, Oxford, Dusseldorf, and Madrid. The Dusseldorf campus moved to Berlin in 1984. Students were recruited after two years preparatory classes in France and after a Bachelor's degree in the UK through a competitive entrance exam.

In 2000, the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris merged with the EAP-Ecole Européenne des Affaires to form the ESCP-EAP European School of Management. This merger was the starting point for the new long-term strategy of the school to train managers able to adapt to any culture and work in any country and to gain international visibility. It adopted the slogan "Learn everywhere, Manage anywhere". In 2004 it added a campus in Turin and in 2005 it moved its Oxford campus to London.

The Master's in Management - MIM is a pre-experience three-year program enrolling students who hold a bachelor's degree. It is the flagship programme of the ESCP-EAP. In that it exemplifies the two century long standing of this French originated, now European "Grande Ecole". There are different recruiting and selection procedures. Most French students are selected after a two-year preparatory class and a nationwide selective exam. Other students, mostly from the UK, Germany and Spain are selected after a competitive entrance exam open to candidates who hold a bachelor's degree. Each year, over 4500 candidates apply for 475 places in the 3-year programme. Over 32% of students are from outside of France, representing 70 nationalities in total. 100 additional places are available for direct entry straight into the second year of the program.

Once enrolled, students have the choice of studying for three years in Paris or to study each year in a different country. In the case of the latter, they receive the following degrees:

The ESCP-EAP Master's in Management was ranked second best in Europe by the Financial Times in 2005 and third best in 2006.[6] It is the only program in the world that is accredited to award five national state postgraduate degrees in management sciences, over and above the triple international accreditation.[7]

The Master's in European Business - MEB is a 12-month, two-country pre-experience postgraduate program leading to the award of an ESCP-EAP Master's degree in Management. It can be said to be a direct inheritance from the former EAP and is aimed at graduates with a first degree in a non-business field (e.g. law, engineering, sciences, humanities, medicine), wishing to complete their education with a degree in general management. Professional experience is not an admissions requirement.

About 230 students from 50 countries are selected each year after a selective competitive entrance exam. They can opt to study in two cities chosen from Paris, London, Madrid, Berlin and Turin. There are international agreements with partner institutions where some students spend a term and receive a double degree awarded by these institutions:

• The TEC de Monterey in Mexico,
• The Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand,
• The MDI Gurgaon in India.

The Master's in European Business is among the 22 pre-experience masters in management programs with accreditation by the AMBA.[[8]].

There are 15 full-time Specialised Masters - MS on offer at the ESCP-EAP, accessible to holders of an approved post-graduate degree and subject to a selective competitive entrance exam. Altogether, there are about 500 students studying for these one-year Specialised Master's degrees in Paris.

        The MBA

The MBA is not a French tradition, and has long been considered a lesser degree than pre-experience Master's degrees[[9]]. This is changing rapidly however, with the internationalisation of study programs and competition among the world's best business schools.

Currently, The European Executive MBA ranks 37th in the world and 10th in Europe in the current Financial Times ranking[10].

The purpose of the ESCP-EAP Ph.D. program is to train research-active professors and high-level consultants in the field of Management Science. Based on a "European degree course", jointly organized with several academic partners, the ESCP-EAP Ph.D. program enables participants to develop knowledge through research and to take positions in the academic community anywhere. Program participants are potential faculty recruits for graduate schools of management (Grandes Ecoles) in France, universities or international companies. The ESCP-EAP Ph.D. program is highly selective and admits only a limited number of participants. Certain degree candidates may obtain the status of Research Assistant and receive financing for the duration of their thesis.

	我告诉过大家不用着急的，ESCP-EAP的相关信息都会在你们不久应该会收到的一个大邮件里提供的，而且关于生活学习方面的一份资料还是中文的，是往届学生编撰的。 所以这里我就一些基本的情况简单介绍一下吧。 ESCP-EAP前身ESCP建于1819年，是法国最老的商学校，1999年与德国的EAP合并，因为两校同属CCIP，所以为了打造一所有实力的欧洲商校而把两校进行合并，从而形成了至今为止拥有5个西欧国家首都校区的欧洲商学校。 另，ESCP-EAP和HEC都隶属于CCIP，是两所有着不同风格和发展战略的传统商校。 地理位置 ESCP-EAP巴黎校区位于巴黎市内11区，学校有提供给国际学生专门的宿舍的，在12区的，治安都很好，交通也很方便，出门就是公交和地铁（巴黎市内的区很小的，走路都可以）；年龄在26岁以下的可以购买交通年票，一年可以省近一半的交通费（270：500欧），而且因为在市内，所以只需要购买巴黎1－2圈的就可以满足在整个小巴黎所有的生活学习的需要；凭此年票周末可以免费出2圈，到巴黎郊区去。  学费 大家应该最关心吧。 全校的学生，不论本土还是外国学生都能享受一种奖学金，这是根据你的家庭收入决定的，最多的人能拿到学费的50％，然后是25％，还有些“富人”什么也没有。不过需要大家在离开中国的是做好相关的家庭收入证明，详细要求以后邮件里有。 在第一年的第二学期，部分人还会拿到另外一笔奖学金，不过逐年成下降趋势，中国人拿到的今年已经从1000降到500了（可能与中国日益发展的经济水平相关）。 至于艾菲尔奖学金，今年escp-eap拿到的人数最多，全法160个外国学生的近四分之一，中国人今年拿到的有8个吧。至于申请过程，只需等待学校的推荐信联系，然后准备相关资料。具体文件要求，大家收到的那分中文介绍里会提及。 至于学费的缴费方式有两种，一年两次（11月和3月），或者每月按揭。 另外，建议大家不要开学费全额汇票来法国，其一因为你会拿到奖学金，而且数目不确定（根据你的家庭收入什么的）；其二中国银行对于学费的汇票只能开给学校，所以你开全额到法国来，如果没有用完，学校是不会立刻返还你的，资金就闲置了。 解决的办法是对于学费部分只开一部分（小一半吧，如果对自己的家庭收入有信心，呵呵），如果不够可以从你的生活费部分挪用的（这一部分也是开汇票划算的，开给自己，学校给的预算很高，可以多换一些，用作学费补充）；如果自己有些欧元或者美金那就更好了，学费的汇票就不用开了，毕竟中国银行要收手续费的。（我当时就没有开学费的汇票的） 生活费的汇票拿过来之后，直接交给你在法国开户的银行，银行内部转帐，一分钱的服务费都没有的，不必先去巴黎的中国银行兑现的。在这边开户，ESCP-EAP有四家合作银行可以选择，都有开户的优惠条件，比如送钱、购物券什么的，主要是出于对学校学生未来收入的预期，问她们为什么会这么做，不怕很多人只是开户拿钱，他们说甘愿承担这个风险，很多“有钱人”开了4个帐户呢，汗啊，不好，跑题了。 房租 这是住巴黎的代价。如果住学校提供的宿舍，小单人间除去房补也要300多（18平，最强手了），大单人间要400多（28平），还有就是双人间，除去房补要250左右吧。 当然住在市内好找校外房子，学校也提供相关信息，搬家也较方便的。  吃饭 一般上课的时候大家都在学校吃中饭，一顿2，5欧到3，0吧，还可以。回来可以自己做，买东西也方便，出门就是一个超市，要么可以做地铁去中国城超市、家乐福、欧尚。  打工、实习 因为在市内，有些同学可以一边学习，一边打工，交通比较方便了。另外，学校、教授也有提供一些学生工作的。如果找实习，面试起来交通也会比较方便。 关于实习的要求，对于GRANDE ECOLE项目学校要求至少39周的工作经历（包括至少20周的管理类的，没有上限，可以替代剩下的19周）；入学以前有工作经验的必须在2月前VALIDER，所以需要出国前准备好你的工作经历证明，最好是附有英语或者法语翻译的，否则得花钱另翻译好。一般没有工作经验的人都会做一年的实习，这样三年的学习生活比较好安排。

	业余生活 住在巴黎市的优势，除了方便买个电视看看，还可以很方便参加消费很多文化、娱乐活动（主要指的是夜间的，呵呵），买东西购物也是很方便的，尤其是每年的打折时期（巴黎是每年大约在12－1月和6－7月，有些MM连续奋战一个月，东成西就）。 另外，参与一些企业、个人的讲座也很方便，主要考虑不少讲座设置在傍晚下班后。  好像差不多了，具体问题到时收到邮件后在提出来吧，我会尽力解答的。 最后还是想说，如置定的文章所言，ESCP-EAP的发展战略是国际化，我的理解是他为了增强自己的国际化形象而放低了对于外国学生的门槛，通过扩大招生而增强他的国际影响，不过相信这也只是个过程。至于她在本国的实力，我不想多说，你们来了自然会了解，免得生是非，被人误解。 大家还是客观的看待吧，仁者见仁，智者见智。  对了，忘了说机场接待的问题了，学校是有接机服务的，需要预定，是由学校一个社团提供的，大家不必付费，只需付自己从机场到市内的巴士交通费就好，10欧吧（如果打出租车到巴黎市，40欧吧，不过可以两个同学分担）。我去年是由一个法国MM接的，因为早到一天，没有住处，所以她让我和另外一个女孩住她家（两间房哦），而她出去和男朋友住，人很好的（如果住酒店，100多欧的，去年有人就住了）。  忘了说电脑、电话的事了 学校有机房，所以大家不用背着笔记本去学校的说，不过如果想享受无线的乐趣，就得有无线网卡的配置，内外置都可以的。学校所有的的二层一下的空间都是可以无线上网的。(因为二楼以上是教室，为了避免上课出小差吧) 另外，新生开学的时候有IBM学生机想大家推荐，法文键盘、操作系统的，去年的是T42，比国内的行货便宜，以后打邮件里会有彩页的；不过个人意见，买个能用的就好了，IBMT42还是贵些。 学校宿舍里是可以免费上网的，不过慢点，所以不少人又签了专门的网络公司服务的。 手机可以签长期的，每月固定费用套餐的，也可以用充值卡的，取决于个人的“业务量”吧，和国内的意思差不多。 关于每年的日程 所有CIAM（现在叫CIAD）的学生的学习路径在ESCP- EAP都是PARIS-INTERNATIONAL（英法＋母语），和大部分法国学生一样的，但他们必须还要有至少3个月的海外实习经验和英语＋另外一门外语；我们因为本身就是外国人，所以就不用了。而有些法国、欧洲学生是EUROPEEN（英法＋其他三国之一的语言）；后者是从第一年开始读的，一年一个国家加在该国实习；所以我们这些直接进入第二年的外国学生不可能进入该项目, 并且第一年必须在巴黎学习度过，第二年的学习和一年的实习便可以半年为单位来随便搭配了，包括半年到一年的交流项目到其他校区以及世界各地的其他国家大学（需要提前申请，并法语通过）。 我们一般都是九月初入学，提前一周有个预热型的法语课，主要是帮助大家提前进入状态。之后第一年还会有一年的法语（分级的）和英语语言课，都算必修课，如果不想上，需要通过评估考试，听说不容易通过的。 直到10月底有个一周多的万圣节的小假；接下来就是圣诞节的半个月大假，不过这也是第一学期期末考试前的假期了，接下来便要开始一月中的期末考试； 第二学期是紧接着第一学期的，考试完有一周休息吧，所以大家就只能在巴黎度过可能是你们人生的第一个没有家人、身出国外的春节了。2月底会有一周多的冬假，然后就是五月考前的春假，有一周多的。ESCP-EAP结课早，五月中旬就都考完了，所以暑期很长，做实习、旅游，或者回国，自己安排。其他的还有一个一天的“复活节”吧。  关于开资金证明办签证 按照学校提供的学费和生活费情况准备相应多得钱（人民币，美元、欧元都可以）在你的任何一种帐户都可以（不必是定期的，活期的就可以），然后到银行开出资金证明用来办签证，银行一般会问你开多长时间的，一个月或者三个月的，而这个证明一旦开出，你的这笔资金在这一个月或者三个月中就不能动用了。当你办完签证，可能也就半个月拉，然后就可以将这个资金证明返还给银行，从而你的这笔资金就马上解放，可以自由支配了。

学校使用的学生宿舍不属于学校，而是一个学生宿舍管理集团，双方只是长期的合作关系，我们住的这个residence叫VIVALDI，在6号和8号地铁线的交界处。大家不久就会收到那个大邮件，里面有预定房子的表，需要尽快填好传真给相应的负责人，然后大家就会收到确认信，要求大家寄去230欧的FRAIS DE DOSSIER（去年的数目），就是所谓的管理费，一次性的，只要你以后不换房间就不会再收的。之后应该不久大家就会收到邮寄过来的住房证明，办签证的时候需要提供的。这个宿舍算是相对经济的，大家最好迅速预定，不要犹豫，过来以后再搬出去也行，没有住房证明是不能办签证的；校外的住房和宿舍一般都是需要担保的，麻烦一些。  800欧注册费定金怎么交？ 如果有足够的欧元，可以开汇票，用快递寄，连同你的那张确认信。 如果没有欧元也不用着急，将学校寄给你的那张要求确认的信（信里有如何确认的条件）拿到翻译公司翻译，然后按要求持相应证件到银行做小额购汇处理（因为只有800欧，银行可以做），然后电汇过去就好（学校提供了相应的SWFIT代码，如果不完整，写email询问学校），不过这样比较贵一些的。具体文件要求到当地银行再询问一下。 我说过的，房租、学费都是每年要涨的，一届一个价，但来了以后就固定了 至于房子的问题，CIUP的确便宜很多，但一般很难申请到，主要是申请的关键时期已过（一般是4月份开始的吧），而且申请的人太多，再就是一般都是照顾奖学金获得者的，还有就是现在开始申请时间可能不允许了（来回书信很花时间的）。 我不知道今年是否有什么新安排，学校是否和CIUP有什么新合作，但以往都是自己按照正常程序申请的，如果你人不在巴黎，很麻烦的（尤其是自己想租用民房的）。 我说过，大家最好不要犹豫，VIVALDI稍微贵一些，但其他的校外宿舍更贵的，或者早满了（你们可以在网上查看的），并且都是要押金担保的，人不在法国很麻烦；另外，VIVALDI的房子也很紧张，一共能容纳198个人（3种房总计），现在差不多都有人住，最近刚来了一批美国人，不知会不会开学还留下来（VIVALDI接待学校所有的国际学生，包括各国交流学生的）。 再说一次，签证是要住房证明的，不论你最后选住什么房子，一定要保证自己能拿到可靠的住房证明。 巴黎市内区小是普遍情况，主要是内城的那几个单位数小区，2位数的几个区稍微大一点，不过临近的区走路没有什么问题；学校到VIVALDI我步行走过，差不多30分钟吧，可以锻炼身体了，还有领略一下巴黎市风情。 租房合同一般都是9月份到次年6月份的，中途搬出去应该可以的，但是当初交的那比管理费（230欧）就不会退了。 对了，你们应该也看到了，VIVALDI要交一定的保证金（差不多2个月房租），这笔钱在你搬出去2个月以后退还给你，是一般的规则。 我以前说过，这个学生宿舍不属于学校，双方只是长期合作关系的。 另外，最新情况，学校最近发信通知了这边的宿舍，要求住宿超过2年的老生不能再续下年的房子，这就是为了给你们这些新生腾房子啊，这还是第一次呢，搞得很多比我高几届的人都得搬家了。 宿舍里没有电话，可以自己安装，合同一般是一年；如果你安装一些网络公司的服务，他们一般都是送电话服务的。 第一年的学习应该还是很紧张的，很多课，除了必修、选修课外（根据学校的要求还有自己的学习计划），还有5门预备课（好像有2门允许VALIDER吧），一个公司管理竞赛项目，安排很紧凑的；此外，第一年刚来还有很多社会、生活方面的事要办。 住在圈外的情况，我不了解，我们这一届好像没有人住市郊的，否则有些人就没有必要来ESCP-EAP了；巴黎地铁的确发达，但来回时间的消耗得考虑，这完全取决你自己的权衡了。 不是还有一年的实习嘛，很多人第二年不一定接着上课的，或者一年实习，或者半年实习半年学习搭配啊 学校不可能成为你是否成大器的保证，只是给你一块可以和其他人平等竞争的敲门砖而已，尤其是读商校、做商业，学校再好、学业再优秀都不能成为日后成功的保证，实力和机遇才是关键。 我觉得有点工作经验（正式的）出来读商校还是好点，除了对学习和日后找工作有好处之外，更重要的是让人变得实际很多，明白了什么东西更重要、更值得。 棉被需要带上吧，不过不需要带很厚的那种，我带的就是只是夏被；不过也可以过来之后买，家乐福就有，好像也不贵的。 巴黎的天气还是很凉爽的，夏天有时也得盖被子睡的。被子的价格我目前不太清楚，不过从国内带床被子也不是很重的的说，现在有很多被子很轻的，然后再抽成真空之后其实很小的。这边冬天屋里很暖和的说，夏被足够了。 PS：我说的“夏被”是导购的说法，我不是很清楚夏被的技术指标，呵呵。 家乐福有真空整理贷卖的，2个一盒，附带一个人力的抽气工具，去年一套50不到吧，像什么被子、衣服、枕头都是可以抽成成真空的，节省很多空间的。你没有听说过吗？ 如果用学校提供的网络，应该是不能视频聊天的。
