在澳洲大陆成为澳大利亚之前，澳洲大陆是。。。it优先指代主语，指代前面那个Australia，句意清晰，时态正确
(B) before there was Australia, it was the antipodes
1. there be句型不被GMAT看好，一般为错
2. 在此句中，Australia逻辑上是指澳国。it指代错误，原因有二，首先，“在澳大利亚成立之前，it...” “之前”是什么，题中不明，it亦不明。其次，逻辑上B选项的it指代的是澳洲大陆的那个Australia，但前面的Australia指的是澳大利亚这个国家，因此也就指代错误了。

1. 若理解为强调句，antipodes跟后面的was单复数不一致
