以下是引用baobaobear在2003-11-18 14:36:00的发言: 2004m7, sorry for the late reply. yes, what chipmuk said is just the common career path for an I-banker in US. (Although you might have found that it is not the case in our local banks.) Anyway, since the IB is one of the major fields where MBAs come from and will head to, ADCOMs are quite familiar with this kind of applicants. Basically, they have known why you need an MBA before you tell them. As for the career goal of an I-banker, what chipmuk said is the truth. It is safe if you say so. However, to be honest, I would like to suggest you to be more concrete and personal on this goal if you want to differentiate from those hundreds of bankers every year. Try to be unique. As for your first question, don't be nervous. Everything related with IB, IM or Corporate Finance is ok for your career goal. You can chose one as you like. ADCOM can understand it easily if only it is reasonable for you. Remember, they are specialists and they have interacted with too many bankers.
Thanks, baobaobear! I think I can set my short term goal as an executive in IB (as you know, we don't have VP title in China). And I am not clear about long time goal, any suggesting? Thanks! |
