去DUKE/ROSS,还是再申一年?

well, since michigan is involved, here is my 2 cents.  first of all, your concern is valid, and i had the exact same dilema a year ago. however what i meant by michigan's summer placement is not exactly the kind of data you posted. to be honest, the date you posted is meaningless, there is a huge difference between schools' placement vs. chinese students' placement. dig a little bit deeper and find out how many chinese got into investment banks in new york and hong kong this year, then compare michigan's stats with those of your dream schools'.

having said that, wharton is a great school, two of my good friends went there, and i would have chosen wharton myself if i had the offer.  but the reality is that i was not 100% sure i can get the offer one year later, and i didn't really want to waste 1 year going through the process all over again.  my experience with michigan has been excellent, one of the best investments in my life, i got exactly what i was looking for, if not more.  for summer internships, we have more than 10 people got into different areas of investment banks(private banking, asset managment, investment banking and sales & trading) in both new york and hong kong, not too bad for a general managment school.

as far as i can remember, there is no such thing as deferral at michigan.

好奇一下，lz是R3的么？怎么到现在还在问这个问题？

其实lz如果真的不是对这两所学校passinate的话，那我到真觉得不妨再试一年...下一年申请的时候就只申请那些录了就一定会心甘情愿去的学校，哪怕不是自己的dream school，也该是自己去了也毫不遗憾的学校。自己开心最重要...其他的什么都是次要的~~~

楼上的正解。re－apply想要进的话难度不小，如果没有合理解释，估计duke和ross也没的进了。
