我是这么理解的。和著句关系越紧密的状语应离主句约近，这样不会引起歧义
比如说在这个题里， "as part of their therapy" is closer to the the main clause than "during 1950"
但在ANSWER D  里，“during 1950" 把 “as part of their therapy" 与主句分开就不如E 好。且让人以为"practice falling during 1950" is "part of their therapy".  But the orginal meaning is  "parctice falling" as part of their therapy happened during 1950.
同理可排除A。

the sentence meant to express the meaning: during 1950’s , victims learned  to fall. this process was part of their  therapy.
D is wrong because it is vague, and may mislead people  : …victim learned to fall during 1950’s,  the problem is "during 50’s" is too close to the verb ‘fall’, as if victims learned how to FALL IN 50'S, but not  other time

as part of their therapy,后面的主语难道不应该是the falling吗?  falling, but not young people, is the part of their therapy.   但是E中，是否主语错误？

2. 在OG当中经常可以看到介词短语作状语, 在句子里的位置不同,修饰的对象就不同. 最普遍的歧异错误就是:时间状语应该修饰整句, 但是却放在了句子中间,有修饰其前面的动词或介词短语之嫌, 为了避免这个歧异,唯一的方法就是把时间状语放与句首,就什么毛病都没有了.
