trader容易申请top b-school么？

If you are interested in MC, why do you choose to be a trader? Trading almost has nothing to do with consulting. I would think MT in GE is more competitive for consulting companies. Where do you work and what do you trade?  You tend to provide very limited information. Are you testing people's patience?

However, if you are a senior derivatives trader in Citi/HSBC/JPM/DB, then I would think you have very good chances for MBA or consulting firm .

As far as I know, top b-schools welcome traders from financial services to fully diversify its student pool. So if you enjoy a fruitful trading experience, please do explain what you have achieved in and learned from your previous works in your essays. If you are trading US treasuries on behalf of SAFE or BOC, you will be previleged.

Many people utilize MBA as a way to pursue the career path they really want to lead, and many of them did it.

Sorry, I didn't tend to hide any info. I don't know why you have this kind of feeling.

I choose to be a trader because I didn't get a satisfatory offer from MC this year. My offer of MT is with a leading oil company, but its MT program is not as mature as GE's. Now I am in China and I wish to apply MBA in US after some years.

if you didn't intend to hide anything, i recommend you to think more before the posting as you should target to post sth that is self-explainatory and nobody else can ask further question. This is a very difficult job for most Chinese young graduates. So far you even didn't mention what kinds of trading you are doing and what kind of organization you are in - they are very important information to makde decision. I think you can improve that if you work in a MT. I do have a friend who worked in a global top oil company in China (even not a MT) and later joined a PE (oil team) after business school.

Of course, if you are interested in finance (IB or HF), then trader job is good for you.

Almost none of the big traders I support have MBA. they landed the trader job right after a top tier undergraduate school. either retire after trading for couple of years , get lured into PE and HE or get fired...

I do see some junior trades have MBA or EMBA. especially those who climbed their way up to traders from middle office.

Why do u want to have MBA as a trader ? I mean, that's just unheard of. Most traders retire after turning 35, IF they're good and have got killer instincts. You only need to consider a career change if not good at trading. For most ppl, trading can be the most lubcrative job out there that everyone can be dying to be involved.
