Yes, some school may reply that age itself does not adversely affect your application candidacy. That may mean you have to present a strong case in other aspects if you want to get a nice shot.

i think your issue is your career development. I can't imagine a clerical staff to apply for MBA in mid 30s - I mean if you can't be a manager at this age, you may not be a good leader in the rest of life (not absolute, but possible).

Of course if you are a senior mgr in mid 30s, you are still welcome. I do know some very senior people 40yo still apply for top schools.

For an aged applicant, you may have to demonstrate a very clear career plan, convincing the admissions committee of your ability in delivering a success in your efforts for a career advancement as expressed in your career plan. There must be some true reasons for you to take an MBA program at this age; think very carefully about them and make sure if you accept your explanation.

Get down to earn, just like the slogan of NYU Stern. I do believe you have chance to get in top 20 if you have good and realistic reasons for an MBA.

Why not to try Rotman? I just heard that they will have
morning MBA ( from 7 - 8:59 am) in September.

        

From Ivey's point view, they run MBA/EMBA programs as a business. Their EMBA recommendation
does make sense since your age fits the program profile and EMBA provides
better revenue stream for the school than MBA does.

    

I don’t believe age would be a issue for Adcom to decide admission
or not. Sometimes, 天真 is not a bad thing and it shows that you still have dream.
Comparing to age, ambition, commitment and realistic goal will have much more
weight to influence Adcom to accept you.

    

Of course, “WHY MBA & WHY NOW” question is harder to
answer for mature people than  for young
kids.
