Duke has a better reputation in terms of its college; in americans'eyes, private schools always sounds better than public schools. No difference between Michigan and UVA, except that Michigan's college football team is way better than UVA's.

For B-schools, all these three are in the same category and nobody really cares about the ranking difference between them. The only concern for internationals choosing Darden or other schools, is whether the case teaching method really fits your needs and capabilities.

In your case, I would think about where you plan to work after your MBA. If you want to work at THE BEST firms in a particular industry -- like Goldman Sachs for investment banking -- then it might be important you go to a top ten school. Otherwise, I don't think it would make too much of a difference whether you go to Darden or Stanford ... it's the experience, contacts, what you learn, and the stamp on your CV demonstrating you got in and through an MBA program that will matter to employers. If you want to be an entrepreneur -- it's the experience and contacts you gain that will matter.  Of course, it will be harder to start your own business while having to pay down your loans, so maybe you'll want to work for a couple years for another firm and make some good money.

Darden is still not one of the top 10 B-schools.

如果非常在意家人的意见,那么你申请前应该征求他们的意见;

如果你自己也不是非常想去,那么你就不应该申请;
