商学院的phd program很重理论研究，而且通常focus on a smalle aspect of a broad issue, 这使得研究结果非常学术化，应用性不足。尤其是美国商学院，极为注重定量研究，这使得研究结果更难被practitioner所接受。经常听到教授们说，发表的论文只有researcher会留意，丝毫引不起practitioner的兴趣。
