这是我的GWD的答案，我更倾向于A

A the best

B 表示目的用for不好，应该用to；they指代不清，不知道指代谁；was不对

C them不知道指代谁，be signed似乎是省略了should，但是这里没有道理需要这个东东

D are不对，主语是one；for不好，it指代不清；

E are不对，主语是one；they指代不清

体会在A中a merge agreement is signed的用法，因为根本不知道这个东西是谁签的，所以用了被动语态；if后面是虚拟语气，要用were。

不能是deal吧？如果是deal应该是单数
