know quite a lot people from different majors in Stanford. In our opinion, they are from Stanford family, no matter whether they are MBA or not. If you have opportunity in Stanford/Harverd, then no reason to consider tier 2 schools.
As far as I know, top VC prefer students from Stanford, master or MBA. A MBA in a tier 2/3 universities are generally not as well recognized as a stanford graduate. One of my partner in Silicon Valley said he knows all Chinese students in Stanford because Stanford is one of the key universities (together with Harvard, MIT) for our future business.
