The issue of whether children should grow up in the countryside or in a big city is a significative yet controversial one since different people hold different opioions on it not only because their respective background but also due to their alien understandings. When it comes to me, I would defintely regard growing up in a big city as a better choice. In the following discussion, I would reason and provide evidence to support my view.
In the first place, the most important reason is involved with the higher civilization level of big cities. Indisputably, cities are the signal of civilization. In big cities, children could have former and professional education, which play a significant role in bringring up a child. And children could get better medical care than in countryside, therefore they can be healthier and have to better and strong body when they grow up.
In addition, another important reason why I tend to choose big cities is that big cities can give children a diverse life. There are much more extracurricular activities in schools of big cities, therefore children have the opportunity to learn a variety of knowledge which can not gain from books. In cities, there are also a pretty number of culture facilities, such as museums, theaters, zoos and so on. Visiting these places, a child could have a better understanding of our world, not only the one at present, but also the world in the past.
Adimittedly, it is true that there are less polution and noise in countryside which might have bad concequences on the health of children. Also, in the countryside a child can enjoy a much life which is much closer to nature world. Nonetheless, these do not contribute a sufficient support to let children to grow up in countryside, since the disadvantages outweigh benefit and I hold the confidence that our government can handle those pollution and noise problems in big cities.
In sum, I concede that countryside have a certain of advantages. However, comparing both the good and bad aspects of the two chioce, I consider big cities as better places for children to grow up. In the final analysis, the optimal approach, in my view, is a balanced one that let children live and attend schools in big cities and come to countryside to relax in the weekend. |
