有到欧洲读博士的吗？

看了好多贴，都是讨论美国的商学院，有选择欧洲的吗？除了英国与法国的，其他国家，诸如德国、北欧之类的商学院怎么样呢？这方面的信息好少呀，是不是大家都不care? 还是觉得那里不值得去？

个人的观点是读博士除了学术上的深造，同时也是一种生活环境的选择，没有去过美国，但欧洲去了几次，觉得那里的生活环境比较适合自己，所以动了到那里读博的念头。请大家指点一下啦^_^

I rejected the temptation from Europe... I won't consider school outside UK because of language problem. You can survive without learning a secoond foreign language but it is hard to live with there.

More important, the center for academic research is in the US. Most of the leading institutions are located in the U.S. There are much more opportunitties here after you get your PhD degree. It is hard for you to come back for the jobs here if you go to Europe.

My two cents. People are different, so go with your decision.

Viky9 and I got into INSEAD this year. I can not speak for Viky9, but I chose INSEAD over US-based schools such as NYU because:
1. INSEAD is extremely international which will further diversify my background
2. INSEAD's PhD program can be finished in 4 years.
3. INSEAD's placement records are on par with those of top US schools
4. INSEAD has been consistantly ranked within the top 10 b-schools in the world in the last several years, much better than some of the "famous" US universities.
5. Life in Europe is more interesting and fun for me (I've lived in the US for many years)
6. Fontainebleau is a very beautiful town...
7....8...9...

I can go on and on... hehe...
Anyway, each person has something different that he or she wants.
Getting into a top school in Europe or US will change your life in a fundamental way.

Thanks for your sharings, invisible and Vicky9 They are very good comments and I hope that will give some hints to the following applicants.

On the other hand, I will say some peole may not want to go to Europe. As I indicated before, people are different so think clear before you act. I rejected LBS and decided to stay in the US. I am tired of moving over and over and relocating to another country will be painful for me. Learning a new language or getting used to british accent is not that attractive for me. If I go there I may have more opportunities to travel around Euro--where, that is a big temptation-, but I can still go there if I am in the US.

The placement record of INSEAD is good. For LBS, I know its Finance PhD program constantly places students in top US business schools. But besides these two, I am not too sure. Maybe judydongxueni can share more

I finished my undergraduate studies in Holland. For me, Europe is very peaceful but boring, US is obviously much more interesting. It's just a matter of different tastes.

I would seriously consider the major European schools, especially INSEAD and LBS. They are really on the rise.
