I support D

1) "for" can also indicate purpose. EG. A Grant for studying medicine.

However, I am not sure whether "for" can be used in this case.

2) I think C is redundant because "will be to" is awkward. should be changed to "will collide"

3) I think E is also wrong because "likelihood of a particular asteroid or comet that may collide with earth" reader maybe confused and think that Likelihood will collide with Earth.

to rate 优于 for rating，而且 will be (how) likely to do 的表达也十分常用

但对 D 存有疑问

rate the likelihood 的表达是否固定搭配，也就是说 rate the likelihood 是否优于 rate how likely

因为 rate 是估计、估值的意思，计算出一个具体的比率（likelihood）语义上说是优于计算出“多大可能”

C中的how likely will be是固定搭配will be likely to的倒装。强调前面的内容，故将how likely提前，be必须补出。另外用不定式来表示目地符合GMAC语言习惯。

（eg， Participants for the current study were presented with restaurant menus and asked to rate how likely they would be to eat at each restaurant.）

D中用for rating肯定从语法上是正确的：下面是几个GMAC的原句：

从原文可以看出， a scale that rates the likelihood that  a particular asteroid or comet will collide with earth,也就是说，在这个地方是在用一个定语从句修饰a scale,而非表明用这个scale的目的，所以用C.to rate how likely a particular asteroid or comet will be to是没有必要的，相反，用D中的 for rating the likelihood that a particular asteroid or comet will来表修饰就刚刚合适了，所以我还是支持D
