766、E的WHEN ASLEEP和WHEN AWAKE的逻辑主语不对，因为通常省略形式的状语从句的主语应该同主句主语，而主句主语是The human growth hormone，不是HUMAN。D没有这个问题。

2、B和E相比，B当然更准确地表达了句子，尽管E我认为没有错误。呵呵。

还是不明白大全766。介词短语也可以作状语修饰主句动词，其逻辑主语也可以是主句主语，为什么这里D就没有逻辑错误呢？

句子主语是The human growth hormone, 说The human growth hormone when awake或者when asleep不对, 这两个动作的逻辑主语应该是人才对, 不可能hormone去awake和asleep。

我的理解:

D中during sleep是个介宾短语，sleep是名词，表示睡眠(期间)，对应后面的waking hours，这个不需要逻辑主语。

E中的when asleep是一个省略结构，是必须要补出主谓的，这里可以补出的就是The human growth hormone，所以逻辑意思不对。
