答案是C,真题软件解释是chances provided,我觉的是chance providing,providing 修饰computer program,不知道对不对?

刚才我想过是用动名词好还是过去分词的问题，但是C肯定是有问题的。从句子意思上看，用动名词providing chances，和 chances provided 都可以讲通。但是chances providing 我感觉不是修饰主句主语，因为现在分词在句中（不是句首或句尾的时候）优先修饰其紧跟的名词，做定语。而chances providing 应该是 chances provided ，因为CHANCES不能自己发出PROVIDE的动作。

对了by chance 也可以说成by chances吗?

我觉得这里不是“BY CHANCE -- 意外地”的习惯用语，BY 。。。。介词短语做COMMUNICATE的方式状语。可以是复数。至于BY CHANCE本身做意外地讲时，觉得一般都是使用单数，习惯用法，但是不SURE。
