lz does not understand the meaning and the structure.here bringing ...with it,it refers to the Achaemenid empire of Persia ,not the subject of the verb "derive",the subject of derive is both..。and...,the sentence is: both...and...derive from which,here which refers to the aramaic script.do you understand？

本来应该是意思是:
the Aramaic script, which both the northern and the southern Indian alphabets derive
                            from.

(那个北方及南方字母源于的the Aramaic script)

变成这样:

the Aramaic script, from which derive both the northern and the southern Indian alphabets.

 

From 放到which前面我可以理解

那derive放到both前面算是倒装吗?? 一定要这样用法吗?

Derive不能放在后面吗?

(我发现我不懂这语法
                        所以不知道 derive
                        的主语是both the northern and the southern….)

derive应该是倒装吧，可以看这个例子
