PhD录取中的无耻现象

以前一直以为老美做事还是很公道的，可这两个月通过PhD录取的事，看到了一些很无耻的现象。我觉得，美国人讲起关系来，不比咱中国社会上那一套逊色多少，真是毫不含糊光明正大的就这么玩起“人情牌”了。可怜的是那些没有这边关系的国际学生，申请费没少交，却被玩得没话说。。。唉。。。

Compared with publication, tenure, recruitment...PhD enrollment is trivial.

Relationship is prevalent in every society made of human beings. Academia is no better/worse than business world.

看起来，人情的确在哪里都是很重要的，只是程度和手段可能略有不同而已。在都qualified的情况下，人情完全可以起到决定性的作用，这大概就是‘游戏规则’吧。

正常，从来不认为美国是一方净土，看过几篇论文，有说美国学校教学生如果找关系拉关系，也有说关系在美国工作生活有多重要的。
