Thanks for responses. I wish I can prove that I am not kidding, but your responses make the decision very clear. There's a new trend in the U.S. for foreign MBAs. Since I grew up in the U.S. a foreign MBA for me would have been CEIBS. Considering the incredible ranking CEIBS received, I thought this was a valid question. For the one person who was nice enough to consider the possibility I am not insane: Background: Born: Beijing moved to U.S. when I was 9 current age 23 College: University of Maryland with 2 degrees - Finance and Statistics Experience: 2 year at an Economic and Financial Consulting Firm CEIBS phone Interview was unexpected very general. I was very disappointed by it. MIT interview asks questions very similar to the essay questions: 1. Why MIT? 2. Describe a time when you took a risk. 3. Describe a time when you helped another co-worker in distress. What did you do specifically? 4. Describe a time when you took charge. Why were you in charge? 5. Is there anything MIT should know about you? Do you have any question? I was asked to give examples that are different from the ones in my essays. I was slightly unprepared but I was very careful in constructing a beginning, a middle and an end. I also quickly summarized the story and tie it back to the question that was asked. (e.g. The situation was a very risky situation because...but in the end I was able to ....). Give your self time to think and don't embellish too much. Be confident and smile. MIT essays are pretty reasonable for MBA. Focus on the result and lesson learned sections. It's ok if the set-up is vague. |
